Volunteers Needed and Welcome!

From ages 16 to 96, we have volunteer opportunities to match your skills and your schedule.

 
Volunteer for the Friends of the Libraries The Friends of the Fort Lauderdale Libraries are an entirely volunteer organization dedicated to enriching the services and resources of the Main Library and the Fort Lauderdale Branch.

We are always looking for dedicated, energetic volunteers to help us support our libraries. As a volunteer you will contribute to the cultural, educational and entertainment life of our community. You will also be rewarded with new friends, new interests and even increased skills.

Volunteers are needed to work on both special and continuing projects. Volunteers can contribute a few hours each week, once a month or from time to time as special occasions arise. Our schedules are flexible and designed to fit busy schedules. Many opportunities are available and training is provided.

  • play an important role in the Book Fair
  • help with First Friday's
  • prepare displays
  • assist with the newsletter
  • participate in advocacy activities
  • plan programs
  • recruit new members and volunteers
