Libraries become even more important in tough financial times. 14% more items are being circulated when compared to a year ago while a 7% more people are coming into our Broward County libraries.
Broward libraries are big business!
- More than 9,916,700 people visit Broward County libraries each year.
- Over 2,919,800 people used computers in our libraries last year.
- Users check out over 9,265,200 million items (books, videos, DVDs, Books
On Tape).
- Our libraries present over 724,037 programs annually.
The Friends of the Fort Lauderdale Libraries actively seeks ties with other community organizations. We partner with the Broward Public Library Foundation on the Invest in Knowledge project and other activities, with the Woman's Club and the Junior League to sponsor School Days at the Library to cite a few.
