Save My Library Campaign The budget cuts being considered by the Broward County Commission will have a huge impact on Broward County library users. The proposals would cut $14 million and 143 positions---this in addition to the deep cuts already made in 2008. The Friends of the Broward County Library, Inc. and the Broward Public Library Foundation ran a postcard campaign during the month of June. Friends groups distributed the 12,000 postcards, informed the public of what services and staff could be lost and forwarded the completed postcards to the appropriate Commissioner. The support and need for libraries came out loud and clear in their comments. The County Commissioners will make their final determination on the budget after the public hearing on September 10th and 22nd at 5pm in the Governmental Center.
